I woke up at 4 am and for some reason turned off my alarm. Probably because I didn't want to have to hear the dreaded noise in 20 min. But I fell back asleep and woke at 4:50.  I got there late. I did the stair master for 30 min and the elliptical for 35 minutes.

Boring.

I lifted a tiny bit as well, and worked my core. Merri and I sat around on the weights chatting for a few minutes and Roy cracked the whip on Merri to either lift or not chat. Merri built up her pecs. In fact I think her pecs might be bigger than Roy's now.

I have PT tonight and I have a plan to rest for about 9-10 days starting this weekend. I figure I better do it  now before we're any closer to spring. I want to fully heal.

1 hr on the arctrainer, 34 minutes elliptical style.

Tried running on the tm again today without any success. The stop button was again hit after about 20 seconds. Discouraged doesn't even come close to the words I would use to describe how I am feeling these days.

It's been exactly 4 weeks to the day since I last ran.

No workout for me today. I am trying to rest my issues. My husband was out of town, so there's no way I would have been able to talk myself into it anyway.

2 days now without any exercise. I have some serious doubts that taking time off is going to help my problem get better. I can't explain why, but I have doubts.

Having an MRI next week. Going to get down the problem. I don't mean to be a debbie downer on here, but it's just been so hard for me.  I saw the movie tangled twice in December, and the words of a song from that movie (healing incantation) keep going through my head:

Heal what has been hurt
Change the Fates' design
Save what has been lost
Bring back what once was mine

I wish I could reverse the clock and do a couple things different from that week I got hurt.

I've been referred to an orthopedist as of last night. I am so ticked. I better not have a long term problem. Having said that I have gained a few lbs. since the injury occurred and that really bothered me. So an abrupt end to the 'rest'. I was going insane not getting any physical activity anyway.

So this morning I drove to the Gold's in Orem. The gym where I set down my running roots. I saw many familiar faces and being in that gym felt like home. It actually did make me homesick.

1 hr 35 min elliptical style and totally worth the 15 min drive.

50 min arc trainer and 40 minutes elliptical. I've been working my core at home these days along with a lot of stretching for my issues.

I think I am going to very reluctantly register for 2 run13 5k's on May 7th, and on May 28th.  Last year I was 4th female on the first one, and the open female winner of the 2nd one. This year I had goals to be the open winner on both. I may not be able to run right now, but those will still be my goals. I know  I have the drive and the determination to do it.

And as a side note, I think it's pretty cool that I can race all distances and do very well. I don't shine in just one distance and I feel really proud of that. I have sorta conquered them all   :)

1 hr 35 minutes on the elliptical with Julie and Kira. Julie got the really tight elliptical and she said she felt like her legs were quivering when she was done. Poor quivering Julie ;)

At home I lifted my free weights and worked my core. My injury seems to be feeling somewhat better. I hope it's a trend that continues. I can't wait for the first time I can run again. At times I can't believe how much I miss it.

Bought some new Nike free's.They feel good and I can't wait to be able to run in them

1 hour arc trainer, and 30 minutes elliptical. My tail bone area hurts today and I thought I lost my ipod this morning. I couldn't find it. Realized  left it at the gym yesterday morning. I asked the front desk girl if it was in Lost and Found. She looked and said no. Worked out the whole time without music. It was horrible people. On my way out I stopped and asked to look myself, whatdya know I found it. She doesn't know how to look. Durr.

I don't want to hurt anymore. I am sick of being injured. I want to run again and run FAST. I am pissed off most of the time and that's not cool. I don't even feel like the same person anymore.

Running please come back...

I was out kind of late and so I didn't set my alarm, Opps. I woke up at 5:15 and made it to the gym by 5:30. I learned some new stretches last night in PT. So I climbed on an elliptical for 15 minutes, then I stopped and stretched. The back on the elliptical for 50 minutes. Then I lifted.

6 weeks injured today.

It's Cafe rio Friday. Eat away the sorrow.

2 hours of elliptical today. I know, 2 hours right?? That's a lot, but it was needed and I did just fine. My body is use to it. :)

Good news. My injury (SI joint and pirfomis) are feeling so so much better. I can tell I am at a turn around point. I think I will wait a couple more weeks before I try to run. But I can feel a difference. Fingers crossed.

Everybody hop on over to my bff's blog, julie.

Give her a shout out. It appears that she has the same pain in the asprin injury I do. Would you believe that ? She would! She says it's because she's friends with me. Julie's is not quite the pain and extent as mine, but still.....

Our friend Monica (from Gold's gym, also a runner) has the same pain in the rear too. Perhaps were all a bunch of over trainers and over striders. We've all come down with the same hurt. hehe

My injury feels better and better. I see me starting to run in two weekends from now. I could probably do it now, but I am going to allow the proper time to heal all the way. Stoked!

40 min on the arc trainer, and 40 minutes of elliptical hell ya'll.  :)

45 minutes weight lifting, then Julie and I went to spin. Holy sweaty betty! We both walked out of there dripping like we just took a shower. Gross!

Noted: I was limping around this morning when I got to the gym, then after spin, my butt and back felt better and the limp was gone. What is up with that?

Side note: If you have never tried spinning, you are missing one of the best and hardest workouts out there. Love it.

Hello fast running blog! I ran 10 miles this morning! I did it, I did it!!  I can't believe it, 2 months is a long time without running.

I woke up this morning so tired and almost didn't go to the gym. When I got there I immediately walked up to the treadmill and stared at it. I feel like something has changed in my body the past week and so I took a little leap of faith and jumped on. I walked for the first 4 minutes to warm up. Then VERY reluctantly I turned up the tread to a 8:45 pace. Slow I know. I felt....nothing. Nothing hurt at all. So I ran that pace for 7 minutes, then I bumped it down to a walk for 2 minutes, then back to a run at a 8:45 pace again. Then 10 minutes later back to a walk. I did this maybe 4 times and decided nothing is hurting or strained, so I bumped it up to a 8:25 pace and pretty much held it there for the next 6 miles. I was seriously so happy. I even teared up a few times in disbelief. Julie came around the 4 mile mark and was shocked to see me running. She ran the rest of the way with me. I never did hurt. I am so happy.  Never take for granted YOU being able to run each day. It is so rewarding and can be such a dark and bleak thing when it's taken away.

I'm back! Run13 races, watch out, here I come!

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit. ~Aristotle

Ran 6.2 this morning. My muscles are obviously not used to this because they've been a little sore and tight all weekend. Started at a 8:40 pace for the first mile and a half. The next 5 were at an 8:06. So much slower than what I was doing, but I was told to start out slow and work back up slowly. I don't want to re-injure at all. I feel like I could speed up,cardiovascular I could handle it, but my joints and muscles say otherwise. I will keep working and try not to over-do anything.

34 minutes elliptical hell with Roy chatting my ear off. Weights.

It's not fast but I can run!!!  :)
