Dude! I am having the weirdest day. I ran 4 miles this morning and every single mile hurt! Calf hurts. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY GAIT or landing.... or whatever.

So I cut the run short. I came home and put on my new Saucony Mirage's. I haven't run in them yet.  Went to Gold's and worked on the elliptical for 42 more minutes. Good effort. A little strength training after. Went to Walmart (and you know that's entertaining). Back home yada yada yada.

After I put my groceries away I decided to do a short jaunt to test my new shoes. They felt good so I just wanted to see what they were like. Well I ran like half a mile and NO PAIN. What?!?!?!? I do not understand! Either the mirage is a REALLY awesome shoe, or a miracle has happened. Or maybe neither and it's a fluke. Well I went out again and I still feel no pain in my calf. But this morning the 4 miles was torture and I even ran some of that on grass. For the love of Pete!

Hahaha Allie. You will never forget my miralaxbeanoimmodiumAD story ever.

Seriously, I don't get it. I wonder if I am just training in a wrong shoe. I've been running in the Brooks purecadence. Maybe it wasn't for me?

Sometimes the shoe makes all the difference! Give the calf a couple days and then try the new shoes...it might just be a miracle!

I ran in Mizuno Wave Riders all of last year and bought another pair to break in before my first marathon. I had horrible PF all year and ended up with a severe case of ITB syndrome post marathon..... no running for 9 weeks:(

I thought that I would try the Saucony Mirages and bought a pair at the beginning of this year...... no issues with PF or ITB! Sometimes you just need to find the right shoe.
