Went out for my run and got caught in the downpour at 1.5 miles in. I was so so so so soaked. I had on my brand new Brooks Ravennas. Anyone know if shoes get ruined from being that soaked? Its the first day I have worn them and they were soaked completely through. That was a crazy run. My headphones stopped working. I hope my ipod is ok!?

Bummer! I'm not sure about the shoe thing, but I would think they'll be ok. That sounds like the worst run ever!

The shoes will be fine, I've even put mine in the washing machine when they got really dirty! Put some newspaper in them and they will dry out really fast. Good job getting your run done. Oh, and put the ipod in rice!

Carina- ha ha, I did put in in rice like an hour ago. :) I hope my shoes will be ok. They feel so good! I don't need ruined brand new 110$ shoes!

Jessica, it was kind of fun. But I decided to stop around the first loop at my house because I was worried about ruining my shoes! I should have put on some old ones and finished out there. Oh well.

If I had a dollar for every soaked Ipod i've ruined. I would have 7 dollars. I got my new Nike Lunarknits all wet today too- but they are intentionally ugly so no loss really : )

Your shoes will be fine. I wash my shoes regularly with no effect. They may feel a little tighter when you first put them on but after a few minutes they stretch right back out. As far as the I-pod, I bought a nano that was for underwater use. You can actually swim with it. Hopefully yours will be okay when it dries out. Put it under a lamp so it will pick up some heat and the water will evaporate out of it.

I think running in soaked shoes actually breaks them in nicely. Not so much for iPods. We run in the rain a lot here in WA :)

CAM! hahahahahaha!! So my ipod is fine, pheeew! :)

Ijustrun: that ipod sounds awesome.I should invest.

Rattle: I forgot you live in rainy WA. I like to run in the rain, but this was jut insane downpour. The street turned into ponds.
