elliptical for 1 hr 25 min. I am trying the every other day running plan, so my beat-up, 6 min mile running body can get a rest in between days. I hurt some days and I can't figure it out. I want to go back to being 25 again. Hmmpph!

Weights, worked core.

I think it is smart to give your legs some rest if you're hurting. Hope you heal up quick.

Good idea. I'm thinking about running once a week like Bart Yasso did last year while training for Comrades. I won't really do it, but the thought has crossed my mind. Lol

When you run fast you get beat up that is part of the game. People that don't get used to the pain usually aren't that fast. But if you feel that you need some time off than that is good too. Cross Training is a great thing.

Scott thanks :)

Dale somehow I just don't think that plan would work for me. Ha, but it would be nice to try!

James, yeah, I know all about the 'pain' of running. I am used to that kind of pain. But this pain, is nagging pain -like the pain you get precursor to injury, so I can't just ignore it, I have to address it. I can handle pain, but I won't ignore this pain, I don't want another months off of running injury. That just sucks. Every other day running is good for me for now. We'll see if it helps :)

Glad you are being good to your body. After going through a long hiatus of HAVING to be off, we are usually a little smarter the next time around :) Every other day is a good plan. I hope the pain responds to your good care.

Smart! You'll have to let me know how you like it. I know a lot of people that swear by this type of training.

you are very smart, lily. i trained through nagging pain and look where i ended up -- in an old lady cast with a walker and a freshly baked muffin top.
