1 hr 10 min on the elliptical. I worked hard on that thing.

Then ran 3 miles, 7 min pace . Kind of a short tempo. I know I keep saying this, but I just feel a lot more strong now.

I am thinking about running the St. George half in January. Has anybody run this and give me a heads up of the course? Anyone...?

Hi Lily!

Fyi- nearly every time I get on the elliptical I think of you. You are the elliptical Queen!

I I have been thinking of running Saint George half as well. I'm working on getting that weekend off from work at the moment. the course does not look very fast though. lots of rollers and Hills it seems. In fact, yesterday I read old race reports from others on the blog who ran the race. The overall times do not look as fast either. So that should even the playing field anyway. I think it would be a fun one to pace. I'll let you know if it works out and maybe we can meet up for warm up or something like that.

way to work, lily. nice job.

about SG half - i've never done it but i've also never heard anything negative about it. i think you would do well.

Great work as always! I've never run the st George half, one of my friends did and she didn't like it, said it was a harder course with lots of rollers.

K so I looked at the times and I figured it was not the typical downhill that a lot of us are used to running. Maybe it would be a interesting, different kind of challenge? I think it might be good for me.

And about the elliptical...

I do this to help build aerobic endurance without actually having to run a ton of miles yet. I don't want to get hurt right now either. I tend to get carried away and run tons and tons the more I run. Does that makes sense? I love running THAT much.

When I begin true Boston Training in January, I will obviously increase running mileage. But for now, I am happy just to get my body moving in the morning no matter how it is I am doing it :) Elliptical hell it is! :)

Nice work elliptical queen. :) Definitely go for St. George half. It looks like a good honest course....hmmm maybe I will run it too!

Elliptical is great! :) I do it after my run as a cool down. Lily, I think Scott and Melissa were thinking about running St George, If I recall correctly. Not that it really matters, but might make for some good conversation and help you with your decision making.

St. George (Jan course) has quite a bit of flat running with a couple of rollers through the neighborhoods and then one pretty impressive hill before hitting a flat trail section alongside the river for a few miles and back to the convention center.

It's no downhill half but a nice course and a good January get-away in a somewhat warmer climate--although it rained during most of the race last year.

Nicely done Lily! I really liked the SG Half last year. It has rollers until mile 7, then it is a gentle downhill/flat. Very well organized and a fun crowd!
