Weights (back, lats). Then 36 minutes elliptical hell. Followed by 10 more minutes of elliptical hell doing tabata sprints.

Walked 25 minutes on the dreadmill. And why no running? Because my left leg is hurting in the same spot on the shin as my right was a few months ago. BAD YEAR. I am so pissed. Think I am done trying to run and compete. Blah. Why blog either. Always hurt. Always angry.

The silver lining though is I am more engaged in the lives of my kids this summer. It has brought me so much happiness sans marathon training. I love my kids and husband. Our family is blossoming so much right now. So if running takes a back seat, I am so okay with that.

The "silver lining" part is the best part of all - running fast is just icing on the cake. I know this has been a bummer year w/ injuries... just keep your head up and accept it for what it is - stay positive the best you can, and if you have running dreams and goals, don't give up on them!

I second what Jake K said :)

Aaahhh, just give up.

Just kidding. I know exactly how you feel. It seems to be one thing after another for us, doesn't it? I'm not going to give up running races, but I might give up training for marathons during the summer months. I really enjoy hanging out with my family, too, and marathon training sure takes up a lot of time. This might be my last St George marathon for a while, a least while the kids are still pretty young. I think I'll just train for winter and spring marathons and do shorter races in the summer.

Thanks Lily, I'm glad someone thinks so. Hahaha.
